Farrell has just returned to civilisation after two months’ exile, during which time he roamed about, out of reach of all his. friends. Two or three years ago three girls and a boy tried to break into films—Janet Gaynor, Marion Nixon, Olive Borden, and Charles Farrell. Charlie fell in love with Janet, but would not confess. Janet then met Herbert Moulton, the dramatic critic of the Los Angeles Times, and the two became engaged. A month later Janet touched dizzy heights of famo as the star of “ Seventh Heaven,” in which Charles Ferrell found his seventh heaven in playing ns her leading man.. They fell hopelessly in love. The engagement with Herbert Moulton was cancelled, and a new one with Charles Farrell announced. o Then Janet met Lydell Park, prominent in San Francisco legal and social circles. A few months ago Janet let the news leak out that she had broken her engagement with Charles Farrell, and become engaged to the wealthy lawyer. That did not last long. Janet and Charles Farrell worked together in another film, with the result that the old love was reborn, and they became rer engaged. It looked like the real thing this time. The date was fixed for the wedding. This. romance lasted a week, at the end of which Janet sent Lydell Park a telegram. Why it was, Charles Farrell will not say, but a week or two later Janet and the wealthy lawyer were married. .... On the day of the wedding Charles Farrell was seen leaving Los Angeles by a south-bound train. He said that he. did not want to see Hollywood again until he had forgotten all the hopes he had experienced there. He loft for a twomonth roaming—where he went nobody knew. Recently he returned.
