COSTER BALL.
A SUCCESSFUL FUNCTION. Last evening a coster ball was held in the Concert Chamber of the Town Hajl and proved a distinct success, The spirit of gaiety and the freedom from restraint which are so necessary in a function of this sort, were very much in evidence. Elderly men, long past the spring of youth, were to he seen mingling with the ydunger people of both sexes, who, arrayed in ' costumes of varied line and design, were evidently out to make the most of the night’s entertainment. The correct idea of a coster ball had evidently been kept foremost in the minds of most of the dancers, and old cupboards and trunks long consigned to the duSty attic must have been ransacked to produce the cos--1 tumes of the pleasure seekers. The floor ! w -as in excellent order, and the music j was of a high standard. The whole or- ■ ganisation in connection with the funcj tion reflects great credit on those reI sponsible for it.
