LONDON, March 16. “ I regretfully notice that intellectually physicians are advancing far more rapidly than surgeons,” writes Dr. Edwin Lick. an eminent German surgeon in “Tin; Doctor’s Mission,” just translated. “ A great change is taking place. Surgery is becoming a soulless, unintelligent handicraft. The art of healing as practised by .physicians is reasserting its intellectual leadership.” A prominent London surccou, commenting on Dr Lick's views, expressed the opinion that more operations are performed now than ever, yet medicine is supplanting operations in many cases. Osteopathy is increasing by leaps and bounds, and electrical treatment is growing.
