(From Our Own Correspondent, i CLYDE, April 1. THE WEATHER. We have experienced beautiful autumn weather over the week-end. The aightt are cool and frosty, with warm sunshine during the day. Last week there were frosts on two occasions, some damage being done to tomatoes. SPORTS. The Dunedin Centre bowling tean visited Central Otago last week, playing local bowlers on Thursday. The weathei was good, and interesting play was seen In the centre match, Dunedin proved vie torious by 124 to 102. The local teau won the club match, 52 to 40. The shielc match was finally won by Cromwell, Clyde being runners-up. Roxburgh will retail possession of the Jolly Memorial Cui until next season. The lawn tennis tournament, Vincent v. Maniototo. was played last’ Saturday under excellent weather conditions Maniototo won by a small margin. The annual meeting of the Clyde-Barns cleugh Football Club, neld last Friday night at the - Town Hall, was well at tended, and was presided over by Mr J Wing. A credit balance of some £l4 wai revealed in the statement of accounts ’The following office-bearers were elected: —President, Mr J. Wing (re-elected); ! vice.-presidents—Messrs J. O’Connell, A S. Powley.. G, J. Spain, G. James, H. B Stevens, W. Wheatland, and W. , K George; committee—" Messrs C. M'Ginns I W. Gye, J. L. Davidson, W, Annan, Di Brockenshire, Messrs W. Eoldon, and D Gillies; secretary and treasurer. Mr C J, Hanning, jun, (re-elected). Mr W. B Hepburn was appointed captain, and Mi J. Wing and Dr Brockenshire delegate: to the Vincent Rugby Sub-union:'—Selec tors—A Grade, President and Dr Broken shire; B Grade, president and Mr H. E Stevens. An effort is being made tt secure a visiting team during the forthcoming holidays. , VISITING AEROPLANE. The Sinimonds-Spartan aeroplane owncc by New Zealand Airways, Ltd., and oper ated by Captain W. Park,' arrived oi Wednesday last, and left on Sunday foi Roxburgh. A large number of flight: were made by residents, many of whon had their first experience of flying. Tin ground chosen for landing was ideal foi the purpose, and has been pronounced first class‘by the pilot. Consideratioi is to be given to the proposal for found ing an aero club for Central Otago, am a meeting will be called later on to dis cuss this matter. Much enthusiasm hai been aroused by the visit of the aeroplane CHURCH NEWS. The sudden death of Mrs Kirkor, ol Alexandra, came as a great shook to hci many friends at Clyde. The ladies ol the Croquet Club assembled at the bos pital and accompanied the funeral tc the Alexandra road, whence it proceedet to Alexandra for the interment. Mr: Kirkor was a frequent visitor to the loca green, and was very highly respected by the members here. A large and beautifu wreath was sent by the Croquet Club. PERSONAL. Drs Valintine and Shore paid a visil of inspection to the Dunstan Hospital last week.
