OTAGO CENTRAL.

PAIRS BOWLING TOURNAMENT. The section play for the annual pairs tournament held by the Otago Central Bowling Centre was played on the Cromwell, Roxburgh, and Alexandra greens on Anniversary Day, and the finals at Clyde on Saturday. The weather for both days was perfect, and the greens very good. Two sections of four were played at Cromwell. Roxburgh played ite eight pairs on a two-life, while two sections of six were played at Alexandra. . A, Earl and W. Manuel won the Roxburgh green and Cromwell green respectively. Final. —Dr Brokenshire and J. L. Davidson (Clyde) 24 beat A. Earl ami W. Manuel. (Roxburgh) 14. In the play-on for second prize Earl and Manuel 8 beat W, Holden and J. Dennison (Cromwell) 5. The winners of the competition are as follows:—1928: G. Stumbles and C. Smart (Cromwell). 1929: D. Xicol and E. Jolly (Cromwell). 1930: K, Brokenshire and J,L, Davidson (Clyde), Mr W. K. George, past president of the centre, controlled the finals and presented the prizes to the winners, expressing the hope that a greater number of players would take part in the tournament next year.
