TURKISH CURRENCY

RESTORING EQUILIBRIUM. APPEAL BY PRIME MINISTER. (United Press Association.) (By Electrlo Telegraph— Copyright.) CONSTANTINOPLE, December 15. (Received Dec. 15, at 5.5 p.m.) The Prime Minister (Ismct Pasha), speaking in the National Assembly, appealed to the citizens to co-operate and restore Turkish currency by establishing equilibrium of imports and exports. He did not wish to boycott foreign goods, but the strictest economy was essential, especially by women and girls, who must not sap their strength by wearing silk stockings and using scents. Less tea and coffee must be drunk because both impaired individual health and national prosperity. The speech secured a unanimous vote of confidence, the Assembly deciding to placard it throughout the country.
