When the Radicals refused the tempting and magnanimous offer ,of seven portfolios they forced M. Tardieu to turn to the Centre, hence the final composition of the Cabinet resembles that of M. Poincare.

M. Tardieu has the whole-hearted approval of the majority of the press, but the issue of the Government programme is eagerly awaited to enable the public to judge of the likelihood of the Government surviving. i
