FANCY DRESS TRAGEDY.

CHILD' FATALLY- BURNED. COSTUME OATOHBS FIRE. (Per United Peeps Association.) HAWEEA, August 31. After being dressed in a costume made of paper and light woollen material to attend a children’s fancy dres. ball last evening, Morris George Trilford,’ aged five years, the son of Mr and Mrs J. Trilford, of Ohangai, came into contact with a naked light in the house. The child suffered severe burns, was admitted to the hospital at 7 o’clock last evening, and died at 6 o’clock this morning. He was the youngest of a young family of five children. Both the mother and the father were severely burned in endeavouring to smother the flames.
