MR POISON’S ATTITUDE. I ■ STRONG PROTEST BY FARMERS. (Per United Press Association.) TIMARU, September 1. A strong protest was made by some members of the Timaru-St. Andrews branch of the Farmers’ Union at the monthly meeting against the attitude of the Dominion president (Mr W. J. Poison) in regard to the Budget proposals. One member said that Mr Poison should not hold the position he did tod y. The chairman said that Mr Poison had given an assurance that he did not make the statement which caused the trouble. It appeared that the whole of the South Island was after him. Mr Porter: It is time they were. They should have been after him long ago. There is a great deal of dissatisfaction among members of the Farmers’ Union, and it has been caused by Mr Poison. So long as he remains at the head of the Farmers’ Union the matter will not bo cleared up. Mr A. Ward said they were hardly tolerant enough with their president. The meeting did not pass a motion.
