GENERAL DAWES APPOINTED, ANNOUNCEMENT BY WHITE HOUSE. (United Pres* Association.} (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) WASHINGTON, April 10. The appointment of General Dawes ad Ambassador td Great Britain was announced at White House to-day.—Austra-lian Press Association-United Service. The State Department received word that General Dawes was acceptable to the British Government., His appointment, which is subject to Senatorial con-' Urination, has been well in diplomatic circles. General Dawes will sail for England, in Juno.—Australian Press Association.
