Following an interview with Mr Hornig the New South Wales Rugby Union Council has decided to issue an invitation to the New Zealand Council to send a team to New South Wales during the coming season. It was stated that New Zealand was anxious to scud a team, and tho Now South Wales Council decided to ask for the best team to be sent, irrespective of race. The tentative programme provides for the team arriving at Sydney on June 16 and departing on July S. Three Saturday and three Wednesday games will be played, with one later at Newcastle or Melbourne. The New South Wales teem for the Dominion will leave Sydney on August 17, and will probably consist of 26 players, with a manager and masseur.— Australian Press Association. WELLINGTON, April 20, Questioned regarding the despatch of a Now Zealand team to New South Wales this season, the chairman of the New Zea kind Rugby Union (Mr S. S. Dean) stated that the Management Committee had not vet considered too matter, though it had authorised Mr Hornig to discuss tho question of the tour with tho New South Wales Union while in Sydney. A visit from New South Wales this season was, of course, expected, but nothing definite in the matter of sending a tom to Australia would be decided until Mr Hornig’s report came to hand. BOXING.
