REDUCTION IN QUOTAS URGED

Representative La Guardia urged a redaction in the immigration quotas as a means of preventing foreign countries impressing naturalised American citizens. The chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee (Mr Porter) endorsed the suggestion when Representative La Guardia and Representative Kelly appeared before the committee to rge the enactment of Mr Kelly’s resolution requesting the President to negotiate treaties to prevent impressment.—Australian Press Association.
