AUCKLAND WINS SHIELD

(Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON. April 11. With wet weather persistin'; it was possible to play only one of the remaining matches in the interuniversity lawn tennis games this morning. Misg N. Whitelaw and A. C. Stedman (Auckland) beat Miss K. K. Scott and W. R. Robinson in the Combined Doubles Championship, 6—2, 6—l. The final now remains to be played between thc-s*. two and Mis« M. O. Miller and K- B. Hardy. As all of them are from Auckland the final will be played in that city,, as well as the finals in the women’s doubles and women's singles. The matches will not affect the points tor either the lawn tennis cup or the tournament shield, which are carried off by Auckland in any case with 13j points, Victoria College” 9i, Canterbury College 9, Otago University 8.
