The Independent Labour Party’s conference adopted the surtax and capital levy as definite planks in its programme. It re-elected Mr Maxton as chairman and Messrs Mosley, Shinwell, and Kirkwood to the executive. The displacement of Mr Wellhead by Mr J. W. Moore as the fourth member of the executive caused surprise.—United Service.
