MR ALEXANDER MACDONALD. VISIT TO THE GULF COUNTRY. (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) LONDON, April 9. Mr Alexander Macdonald, explorer and author, is leaving for Australia by the Port Wellington on April 14, accompanied by six artists, to whom he is addin" in Melbourne and Sydney, for the purpose of making a film of the Gulf country. He “ also taking the film, “ The Unsleeping Eve ” which was made in New Guinea last’year, and which he will release m Australia. , , . . Mr Macdonald is a keen admirer of the Australian bushman, and hopes to bring out the romantic side of pioneering in the Gulf country and other places. He states: “I want to do for Australia what James Oliver Curwood did for Canada.” —Australian Press Association. Mr Alexander Macdonald, F.R.G.S., F.R.S.. G.S., was one of the pioneers of the Klondyke goldfields. He has led various exploring and geological expeditions into the interior of Australia, and has travelled in the remoter parts of nearly every country in the world.
