CHURCH AND STATE
SEPARATION IN TURKEY. BILL PASSED UNANIMOUSLY. (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph— Copyright.) (Received April 11, at 0.15 a.in.) CONSTANTINOPLE, April 10. The National Assembly passed unanimously a Bill separating the Church from the State. It stipulates that Islam shall no longer be Turkey’s State religion and that deputies and State officials m future will take the oath of office on their honour and not in the name of God. ihe National Assembly will no loi >ger h® charged with the application of, the Sheriat Law.— Australian Press Association—United Service.
