SMALL FINE IMPOSED. (Special to Daily Times.) AUCKLAND, April 9. “ This is not a bad case by any means, paid Sub-inspector M’Carthy at the Polica Court this morning after John Alexander Fox, aged 29, had pleaded guilty to_ a charge of being in a state of intoxication while in charge of a motor car. Tho Sub-inspector added that the constable noticed that the car driven by Fox in Great North road on Saturday night had no lights, and on approaching the car when it stopped he found that Fox waa under the influence of liouor. Mr Sullivan, who appeared for Fox, said that h's client and he had purchased the car only ou. Saturday. Possible he rr-.i U-. i he bought it from had a drink to celebrate the affair, said counsel. Mr Sulhvan asked that a small fine be imposed. The Magistrate (Mr E. C. Cutten) fined the pcensed £7 10s, and allowed one week in which to pay.
