AQUATICS.

BROAD BAY CLUB RACES. The Broad Bay Boating Club held a series of races on Saturday afternoon under favourable conditions, althouch th° wind was light and changeable. One of the most interesting races was the outboard motor boat event, and the smooth water gave the speedy little craft every opportunity to show their capabilities to the full. Another popular event was the annual race for the Oliphant Cup, which was won by the 14-footer Eileen with several minutes to spare. The launch races were started on the Mart Foy system. Following are the results, together with the handicaps: MOTOR BOATS (All-comers). Sunfisher (2min lOsec) 1 Spitfire (lOmin 48sec) 2 Miss Bruce (scr) 3 Also started; Rewa, Shirley, Grade, Vyella, Jewel, Pekeha, Southern Star, TTgie, Laura, Manuka, Stella. Islay, Jewel, Kewi. OUTBOARD MOTOR BOATS. Sun fisher (scr) 1 Aloha (lOsec) 2 Fiasco (50sec) 3 Jade also started, but did not finish, owing to engine trouble. YACHTS (All-comers), Shadow (scr), 57min 25sec 1 Irex (12min), 57min 52scc 2 Vera (2rain), Ihr 2min 30sec 3 Harlequin also started,.
