TRAGEDY AT ST. CLAIR.
MAN DISAPPEARS IN BREAKERS. CLOTHES FOUND IN DRESSING SUED. About 6.30 last evening, a number of people bathing on St. Clair Beach was alarmed to see a man who had been swimming beyond the outside line of breakers, throw up his arms and disappear. Several membens of the St. Clair Lifesaving Club, who were in the vicinity, immediately swam to the spot, but although, in conjunction % with the police, they searched until a late hour no sign of the missing swimmer was found. Curiously enough no one on the beach appeared to know who the unfortunate man was, but he is supposed to have been dressed in a light grey hat, dark grey coat, light grey liousers, cream silk shirt, and brown lace-up shoes, which were found later in the surf club’s dressing shed.
