HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.
AUTUMN SHOW. The Otago Horticultural Society’s autumn show was concluded yesterday, when there was a largo attendance at both the afternoon and evening sessions. The displays of the various firms, particularly that of the Phoenix Company, attracted much attention, and it would appear that this section will attract still more entries next year. The decorated tables also called for more than passing notice from the majority of the visitor? and some of the exhibits by children, particularly the George Street School’s -tand, was favour ably commented on. The comprehensive exhibit from North-East Valley, and that of the Gardening Club (which embraces in addition to flowers, n splendid collection of vegetables) were also popular.
