ALLEGED ESPIONAGE
FRANCE EXPELS ITALIAN AIRMAN. (Bresc Association —By Telegraph—Copyright. > PARIS, February 10. (Received Feb. 11, at 11.30 p.ni.) Sacchi is again prominent through France’s expulsion of a member of_ the Italian Air Force named Vaghnssini for alleged espionage while traversing the inland waterways. It is alleged that he received 10,000 francs through bacclu, who received a similar amount. A. and N.Z. Cable. A recent message from Paris stated: The Government has ordered the deportation of the Fascist journalist Canovi, who was arrested at Nice on a charge nt being an Italian agent provacatcur. it appears that he bad dealings with anantiFascfst named Sacchi. with whom the police confronted him. Canovi thereupon admitted his intention to try and inauce Sacchi to take part in a weirr pot to charter an aeroplane at Ajaccio, ny to Rome, and bomb Signor Mussolini s house. Legal opinion is that no charge could be preferred against Canovi, hence the expulsion order. It is stated that the French Government is irritated by tue constant quarrels among rival Italian factions on French soil. A number of Fascist agents at present in Pans and on the Riviera will be warned to discontinue their activities, or they will be subjected to treatment similar to that dealt out to Canovi. _____
