THE LIFETIME OF A MOTOR TRUCK. A DUNEDIN FIRM'S EXPERIENCE. Ons of the first (if not the first) Motor Trucks employed in the haulage of Coal and General Carting in Dunedin was purchased by the Westport Coal Company approximately thirteen years ago. It was a two-ton capacity vehicle with solid tyres and a four-cylinder engine. It has been engaged chiefly in the Coal trade by this progressive firm, and has been in almost continuous use during the whole of that period, and when first purchased took the place of fifteen horses and the necessary drivers. Recently it was decided to completely overhaul this machine, and this* was done at a very reasonable cost for the renewal of the necessary parts, and Mr Cameron, the Local (Manager, is quite pr.tis(icd that this sturdy haulage unit is good for another long life of active service in heavv duty work. The above i ecord was achieved by ,(be Mighty Lee Speed Wagon, and Francis and 'i'a.vior (Ltd.l, of Dunedin. Si nit'll Island Distributors, are particularly fortunate in having secured representation for a Motor Vehicle with such a meritorious record. —Advt.
