FOG IN ENGLAND
LARGE AREA ENVELOPED
EXPRESS TRAINS COLLIDE,
(Pres* Association —By TelegrapD—Copyright.) LONDON, November 25.
For twenty-four hours the greater part of England has been enveloped in a dense fog, which, it is forecasted, will continued to-morrow. Traffic throughout London has been complicated, and the tram, train, and bus schedules are upset. Flares appeared in most of the congested parts of London for the guidance of drivers. Six collisions occurred, involving two trains, six trams, buses, and private vehicles. A vast army of torch carriers has been called into -sendee to-night to aid the omnibuses.
The worst collision occurred when two London-Essex trains collided near Barking. The rear train, not noticing the signals, overtook the train ahead. The quick application of the brakes prevented a serious disaster. Seventy persons were- injured, but none seriously. ~ Sydney Sun Cable.
