MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Otago Land Board was presided over by Mr R. S. Galbraith. Others present were Messrs O. J. Inder, G. Livingstone, T. A. Munro, J. Smith. APPLICATIONS FOR LAND. Andrew Barclay Hall, of Waipiata, applied for a yearly license over sections 14 and 22, block IX. Maniototo district, 67 acres 1 rood 06 poles.—Miscellaneous license from year to year granted at an annual rental of 40s. David Fraser applied for a_ renewable lease over section 76, block VII, Lauder Survey District. —Declined. G. M. Marshall applied to purchase tail race running through his section part of 4, block X, Leaning Rock S.D.—Granted, at a capital value of £2 per acre. An application by E. Mason for an area of one acre at the outlet of Lake Hawea was declined. J. A. Nikander applied for a renewable lease over sections 20 to 23, block _V, Kawarau, and the land between sections 19 to 23, and the river.—Held over until next meeting. W. E. Wright applied for a miscellaneous license over section 2, block VI, Teviot: area 17 acres 1 rood. —Miscellaneous license from year to year granted at an annual rental of 13s. R. J, Campbell applied to purchase sections 120 and 122. block 111, Benger; I acre.—Hold over until completion of survey. Application by John Skinner for a miscellaneous license over part of mining reserve in blocks IX and X, Tuapeka West and I and XI, Waitahuna West S.D. Area 44 acres.—Miscellaneous license from year to year granted at an annual rental of 335. DISPOSAL OF LAND. The board was asked to consider the final disposal of sections 375, Teviot Settlement 14a 1 rood 09 poles, and section 39, block VII, Benger S.U., 5 acres 2 roods 09 poles. Granted to R. G. Moir on pastoral run license at a capital value of £4 per acre, subject to section 88 of the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, and subject to adjustment upon railway route being defined. The board was asked to consider the final disposal of section 395, Teviot Settlement, 11 acres 26 polos; 425, Teviot Settle mont, 11 acres 52 poles; and section 57, block VII, Benger S.D. 5 acres 1 rood, 05 poles.—Granted to T. Stockdill on pastoral run license at a capital value of £4 per acre, subject to section 88 of the Land for Settlements Act. 1925, and subject to adjustment upon railway route being defined. The board was asked to consider the final disposal of section 40s, Teviot Settlement, 7acros Sroods 30 poles; and section 38, block VII, Benger S.D.. 5 acres 1 rood 17 poles.—Granted to John M'Causland on pastoral tun license nt a capital value of £4 per acre, subject to section 88 of the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, and subject to adjustment upon railway route being denned. Field Inspector Simpson submitted a report and valuation of sections in block I, Teviot. —Sections to be grouped as shown, and offered on renewable leave at the field inspector’s valuation, plus loading for roads, the improvements to bo paid in cash, and the leases to be subject to the usual irrigation clauses. Field Inspector Simpson submitted report and valuation of sections 20 and 21, block 11, town of Pembroke.—Sections to be offered for sale by public auction at the upset price of 20s each. The Commissioner submitted a report of the field inspector on sections 14 and 25, block XI, Clarendon, which have been recently surrendered.—Sections to bo offered for selection on the optional system, at capital value suggested by the field inspector. Matthew M'Cubbin applied to purchase an area of 33 acres in block IV, Lauder survey district.—Declined in the meantime. Walter Haig applied for an occupation lease over an area of 33 acres, block IV, Lauder survey district. —Declined, and board decided that it would not consider any further application from Haig for this land. RENEWAL OF EDUCATION RESERVE LEASE. Field Inspector Mce submitted a report on the application of William Ross for a renewal of his education reserve lease over section 4, block 102, Clutha S.D. —Renewal of lease granted for 21 years from July 1, 1926, at annual rental of £9 2s. RENEWAL OF LEASE. 11. Brady applied for a renewal of his occupation lease over section 103, block 11. Teviot district.—Field Inspector Bailey appointed appraiser to determine the rental lor a new lease. DUPLICATE LICENSE. J. A, Moyle, on behalf of the executors of Robert Crawford (deceased), applied for a duplicate of miscellaneous license No. 2601 over an area fronting section 31, block XI, town Kelso.—Duplicate copy of license to be issued at a fee of 10s Od. EXCHANGE OF TENURE. The board was requested to rescind the resolution of Juno 9 recommending exchange of tenure of section 5, block XI, Dunbaek S.D., the lessee (Mr E. H. Clark) declining to accept at the valuation fixed. —Resolution rescinded. CANCELLATION OF GRANT. The Commissioner having reported that John Olives, to whom the lease of section 2S, Melville Park Settlement, was granted at the last meeting of the board, had failed to make the required payments, the resolution granting him the section is rescinded. —Resolution rescinded. FORFEITURE. Section 68, block VII, Norfh Harbour and Blueskin district—Thomas Collins.— Lease declared forfeited. The Receiver of Laud Revenue reported that O. Keegan, licensee of part Tailings Reserve, north-east of and adjoining section 226, town of Komako, has abandoned the section, and has failed to pay rent outstanding.—Licence declared cancelled. APPLICATION TO SURRENDER. A. M'Loan, liquidator of the Havelock Sluicing Co. (Ltd.), applied to surrender the license giving right to construct a water race and pipe line through sections I .and 10, block ATI and 8, 27 and 38, block VI, Tuapeka East district.—Surrender accepted; rent to bo paid to end of July 1925. N. S. Bayne and K. W. Bayne applied to surrender their miscellaneous license over an area adjoining section 31, block IV, Catlins district. —License cancelled from Juno 23, 1926. INCREASE OF RENTAL. The board was asked to consider the question of the rental payable by Thomas Treacy on certain islands in the Clutha River, held by him under miscellaneous license.—Rent increased to £5 per annum from February 10. 1927. BURNING TUSSOCK. W. J. Mitchell applied for permission to burn tussock and fern on section 21, block IV, Mt. Hyde, and on his pastoral run in block 11, Mt. Hyde.—Permission to burn granted up to October 50, provided burning is done under lessee’s supervision. W. A. Seaife applied for permission to burn tussock on runs 334 C and D.—Permission to burn granted until the end of October. The trustees in the eslato of the late A. J. Seaife and S. T. Seaife applied for permission to burn tussock on run 533, Lake County. —Permission to burn granted until the end of October. “THIRDS.” Taieri Counly Council submitted proposals for expenditure of “Thirds,” etc., accrued for (he period ended April 30. 1925, amounting to £2 6s 7d. —Proposals approved, and received authorised to pay. Tuapeka County Council submitted proposals for expenditure of “Thirds,” etc., accrued for the period ended April 30, 1926, amounting to £l9 5s 9d.—Proposals approved, and receiver authorised to pay. Alexmdru Borough Council submitted proposals for expenditure of “Thirds,” etc., accrued for the periods ended January 31, J 626. and April 30. 1926, amounting to £1 10s lOd and 15s respectively.—Proposals apapproved and receiver authorised, to pay. Vincent County Council submitted pro posals for expenditure of “Thirds,” etc., accrued for the period ended April 50, 1926, amounting to £79 19s Bd.- Proposals approved and receiver authorised to pay. The Lake County Council submitted proposals for (lie expenditure of “Thirds,” accrued for the period ended January 31, 1926, amounting to £lO IBs 9d;—Pro-po-al approved and receiver authorised to pay.
