romance and adventure, CAPTAIN HURLEY’S FLANS. LONDON. May 25. “Pearls and Savages” has so impressed Sir Oswald Stoll that ho is financing Captain Frank Hurley to enable him to produce a series of natural colour films of romance and adventure in the South Seas. Captain Hurley, who has written the majority of the scenarios, will leave London in tho middle of July. A group of Stoll’s leading artists will follow in August. The remainder of the cast will bo engaged in Australia, and it is expected that the first picture will lie taken in October. Captain Hurley states that he is attempting to produce something ontirelv original, and at the same time acceptable lo the American market. This will counterblast, the flooding of the world with Yankee films. H ho is successful, film production will be carried cut on a big scale in Australia, where the light is satisfactory for 10 months in the year, as compared with four months in England.
