COLLAPSE OF THE FRANC
A STARTLING DECLINE. EXCITEMENT ON BOURSE. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, February 15. (Received Feb. 17, at 0.16 a.m.) The Daily Express’s Paris correspondent reports that the startling collapse of the franc is the one topic of conversation. It represents a fall of five points in a week, and speculation on the Bourse is inclined in the direction of panic. On Saturday M, Herriot called a conference of exports, whose deliberations lasted until 3 o’clock on Sunday morning. A disquieting factor is the speculation against the franc among ordinary people, suggesting a lack of confidence m the Government. iVL Violefct© (Reporter of the Budget) stated in the Chamber that France required another 6,000,000,000 francs revenue.—A. and N.Z, Cable,
