HIBERNIAN SOCIETY.

The fortnightly meeting of St. Joseph’s Branch, No. 73, H.A.C.8.5., was held in St. Joseph’s Hall, Rattray street, on Tuesday. The president (Bro. R. A. Simpson) occupied the chair. The sick visitors ("Bros. A. Borland, William Simpson, and J. Hughes) hexing reported, the sick accounts and others wero passed for payment, and routine business was disposed of in good time. The secretary was instructed to write to Dr Whyte, inviting him to the next meeting of the" branch, to be held on Tuesday, January 20, when ho will he duly installed as Grand Chaplain to the Hibernian Society of Dunedin by the District Deputy (Bro. James J. Marlow). It was also decided to invito all other branches in Dunedin to be present on that occasion. The Distiict Deputy Giro. J. J. Marlow) installed the following officers for the next six months; —President, Bro. A. Gillick; Vice-president, Bro. J. Hughes; Secretary, Bro J. J’. Ford: Treasurer, Bro. T. J. Boyle- Warden, Bro. W. H. Cole; Guardian. Bro. L. M’Entee; sick visitors—Bros. A. Borland, M. Scannell. and J. J. Marlow, jun., P.P. j i • The District Deputy expressed lin good wishes to the newly installed officers, and wished them a happy and prosperous term of office. All the officers duly returned thanks. The District Deputy was assisted by Bro. R. A. Simpson, P.P. during the installation ceremony. The President exp-res ted the hone that every member of the branch would attend the next meeting.
