ATTEMPTED MURDER.
YOUNG HALF-CASTE CHARGED. CAUSTIC SODA IN PORRIDGE. (Pan United Press Association.! GISBORNE, January 8. A half-caste, Donald Stewart, alias Pcta Panapa, aged 17 years, who was recently sentenced to three months atTokomaru Bay for rheft, was before the Magistrate’s Court this morning on a charge of attempting to murder a woman named Puranhia Walker. The charge is tho soouel to the trial at Napier ot a. Maori girl on a charge of attempting to murder her mistress at Waioawa by putting caustic soda in her porridge *gtowart is now charged with this offence. Ho was remanded to Napier.
