REASSURING STATEMENT. LORD MAYOR’S OPINION. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, January 7. Regarding the reported unsafe condition of St. Paul’s Cathedral, the Lord Mayor declared that there was no need for alarm for the condition of the cathedral. There was no reason why the repairs could not be carried out without closing the building.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
