ELDERSLIE STUD FARM.

PURCHASED BY MR lAN DUKCAN. (Feom Ottb Own Cobbispohdent.) WELLINGTON, January 7. Mr lan Duncan, of Waikanae, has purchased from Mr J. B. Reid the famous Elderslio stud farm, near Oamaru, which is recognised aa one of the finest breeding establishments. Mr Duncan is taking it over aa a whole at the end of the month, when he will transfer all his stock from Waikanae. The latter place, although suitable, was hold on only a short lease by Mr Duncan, and he haa availed himself of the opportunity of purchasing aa a permanent home for nis stock the old-ostabhshed place in the south. Mr J. B. Reid, who has for many years bred horses at Blderslie, has now a breeding estalJiahment at Newmarket, England, and is holding a clearing sale of his stock at Elderslio on the 16th inst.
