AUCKLAND 'WOOL SALE, GOOD PRICES EXPECTED. (Thom Ooe Own Cobbespondent.) AUCKLAND, January 7. Tho second wool sale of the season in Auckland will bo held on February 10. "Wool is coming to hand freely, and notwithstanding tho exceptionally large quantity offered at the first sale on December 5, it if> anticipated that tho catalogue for the coming sale will nearly equal tho record offering of 22,580 bales made at the February sale last year. Tho quality of tho clips coming forward is excellent in most instances, but there is always a larger percentage of rough wools at the later sales of the season on account of tho greater proportion of clips from tho out-back and bush country being included. It is generally anticipated by experts that the standard of prices established at tho first sale will bo maintained. _ The average price per bale may show a slight decrease, but that will bo duo to tbo greater proportion of rougher wools that will be offered. An authority, discussing the position, stated that the results of the sales in the south woro most encouraging. There had been slight variations in the different centres, but everything indicated that the standard of prices fixed at the opening sales had been fairly well maintained.
