FOUND HANGING. (Pub United Trees Associa^on.) AUCKLAND, January 14. John Goodfcllow Robertson, single, aged 42 years, was found hanging by a halter from a tree at. his brother’s farm at Mangore. Ho. had been suffering from a nervous breakdown. DEATH FROM GUNSHOT WOUND. <Peb United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, January 14. William MTndoe. . a labourer, single, aged 40 years, was found dead in a house at Onehunga with a gunshot wound in his head. RAILWAY STATION ACCIDENT. TRAIN PASSENGERS INJURED. ONE SUCCUMBS. (Per United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, January 14. As a result of the tablet-receiving apparatus at Ilalcombe station swinging back; two passengers on the Main Trunk express this morning met with serious injuries. ■ Robert Grant, an immigrant, who arrived at Auckland by the Suffolk on Friday, and was proceeding to the Kaiapoi Woollen Mills, suffered severe injuries to his N head, his skull being fractured. Thomas' Noble -received head lacerations. Both were attended to by. an Auckland doctor who was on the train.. On reaching Palmerston North, Grant, who was unconscious, was. removed to the hospital, his condition being serious. PALMERSTON N v January 14. Rohe,rt Grant, one of the immigrants injured at the Haloombo railway station this morning, died after an operation at 5.40 this afternoon, never having recovered consciousness. Apparently he was a single man with no known relatives in the dominion. It was only his fourth day in the country. SUICIDE IN HOSPITAL. (Pub United issnmrinw i NAPIER, January 14. A married man, 33 years of age. named Robert Alexander Steele, committed suicide in the Napier Hospital last night by cutting his throat. Ho was undergoing treatment for nervous debility. Ho left a note saving: “I have a terrible headache, and 1 'am frightened of it.”
