Sir James Allen, accompanied by Admiral Hotham, visited Portsmouth and personally interviewed all the New Zea- ' landers undergoing naval instruction. They all looked well. They said they were comfortable, but anxious to return to New Zealand. The instructors gave most satisfactory reports. The boys have good manners and a smart appearance. They are working well, and are keen about their examinations.—Sydney Sun Cable.
