LAWN TENNIS.

OTAGO ASSOCIATION. A meeting of representatives of the various lawn tennis clubs was held in the secretary's board room last night, Mr R. S. Black presiding over a large attendance. The Chairman reported that the meeting; had been called to consider the holding of a jazz evening with a. view to bringing the lawn tennis players in closer touch with each other. It was decided to hold a jazz evening on a date to be arranged as soon as possible, and the following were appointed to carry out all arrangements:— Messrs SherrifF (chairman), Boddv, M'Adam, Misses Howden, Fyfe, Morrelf, M'Laren, Aslin, and M'tiarthy. It is hoped that all lawn tennis players will help to make the evening a success by attending this function. A committee meeting of the association Was held at the conclusion of the meeting. The secretary was instructed to apply for permission to hold the annual tournament at Easter. It was resolved that the subscription for the sub-association be £2 2s per annum and 2d per member levy to the i\ew Zealand Lawn Tennis Association. It was resolved to hold a C Grade Yankee Tournament (combined doubles) at the Anderson's Bay courts on Labour Day. All arrangements were left in the hands of the Competitions Committee. The draw for the C Grade matches for Saturday, October 13, is as follows:—First section—Anderson's Bay v. Cbsv Dell, Anderson's Bay 3 and 4; Port Chalmers v. St. Clair, St. Clair; Triangle v. Green Island, i'riansde; Balmacewen v. Taieri, Anderson's Bay 1 and 2. Second section —Anderson's Bay v. Waimana, Anderson's Bay 5 and 6; 'i'riangle r. C'aversham, Caversham; Port Chalmers v. North-East "Valley, Port Chalmers; Opoho v. St. Andrew's, Opoho; Balmacewen, a bye. Unofficial (A Grade).—Cosy Dell v. University.—Cosy Dell: Misses Smith, White, Mrs Duncan, Miss Collins, Wilkinson, Jensen, Fulton, Thomas.
