KEEN FOREIGN BIDDING. ■ PRICES SHOW A GENERAL ADVANCE. Proas Association—By Telegraph— Copyright LONDON, May 11. The wool sales have closed. About 5 per cent, of the offerings were withdrawn. There was a good attendance throughout. The principal feature was the keen Continental and American biddings r ror merinos and' fine crossbreds-. Yorkshire buyers were reserved, but gave fair supportin tlae case of medium and shabbier crossbreds. A confident tone was maintained, all -through. Merinos generally hardened on the opening rates and closed extremely firm. Choicest were per cent., medium average, and faulty 10 to 15 per cent, above March closing rates, f iner crossbreds were 10 per cent, above March rates. Medium qualities eased somewhat, but closed '5 per cent._ above March prices. Coarse met a strong’Continental support at aTO per cent, advance. Lambs steadily hardened and closed at a 10 per cent, advance.—A. and N.Z. Cable. -
