A conference of the executives of the Mine-workers’ and Engineers’ Associations at Johannesburg confirmed the coal miners’ decision to strike on to take an immediate strike ballot on the Chamber of Mines’ and the Power Companies’ ultimatum regarding' changes in working conditions affecting the colour bar ahd other matters.—A. and N.Z. Cable. CAPETOWN, January 2. The coal strike at Witbank pits is in full operation, and all work, except essential services, has ceased. Conditions are peaceful. —Router.
