BAG DAY

The ■ Citizens’ Committee -which has in hand the raising of the necessary funds to send the Kaikorai Band to Ballarat is making efforts to raise the balance of the money required. On Friday next the ladies will hold a Bag Day, in which purchasers of Is tickets wifi obtain a bag containing some article. The value of the bags will vary from small articles to an order for coal or other goods of considerable value, and it will therefore be worth one’s while to buy a shilling ticket for the chance of obtaining some of the valuable prizes which are being offered. It will also give the citizens an opportunity of making their contribution towards tho Kaikofai Band.

The band hag boon practising very hard for tho past 12 months, and is in excellent form at present. It, is anticipated that if the members are able to compete at the forthcoming contest they will worthily uphold the name of Dunedin.
