The account for printing 1000 copies and binding 250 copies, £526 7s 6d, was presented a : nd payment approved. An anonymous donor, who gave £IOO so that the selling price of the book should be reduced, was thanked by the committee. Mias E. Moore, Sumner, forwarded a draft for £IOO given by Mr and Mrs. Thomas Moore for the upkeep of a teacher on Ambrim.—The donors were heartily thanked, and the £IOO funded, the sum of £8 to bo paid yearly until the amount is exhausted. The secretary of the Victorian Committee wrote advising that Mr J. W. Mansfield hod been appointed for two years to succeed Rev. M. Prater on Paama, and to continue oversight of the New Zealand di«trict_ on Norib Ambrim.—lt was resolved to write to Mr Mansfield conveying the greetings of the committee. The general treasurer was also authorised to pay £SO to Mr Mansfield for six months’ salaries of the Ambrim teachers. A letter was received from Rev. W, V. Milne, in which he stated that the natives of Nguna district are making a large quantity of arrowroot as a-free gift to foreign missions, and, ns a new thing, they are making some more to be sold and the money returned to them to be, held as a, fund out of which the feasting and other expenses of arrowroot making will-be paid next year. Mr Milne says: "Like other people, the natives are changing. They like to see some return from their labour. If they can say, ‘This food that wo are eating was bought with arrowroot money,’ that will bo something tangible, and they will lie encouraged to make more and with n better grace.” Mr Milne mentioned that a Mr Greenwood, member of the Victorian F.M. Committee, was .visiting the islands, and taking photographs at his own expense, in order to give missionary lectures on his return to Australia.
