OCCUPANTS ESCAPE IN NIGHT ATTIRE. (Per United Press Association! ASHBURTON, September 15. A five-roomed house, occupied by Air W. J. Varcoo, farmer, at Laghmor, was completely destroyed by fire last night. Mr Varcoe was in Christchurch, but his wife and five small sons, aged up to nine years, alarmed bythe fire, escaped only with their night attire. The house belonged to Mr Cecil Doig, and was insured for £7OO.
