Wilson (president) was in the chair, and there was a large attendance of members and intending members. , . * The President congratulated the dub on the line form shown last season, and thanked the subscribers of trophies fori the . interest they had shown in the members and them thought, for the welfare' of the club. The club was now on a sound' finan- ■ cial basis, which was very largoly due to the efforts of their hon. secretary and to tho members of the / various He ' moved the adoption, of the annual'‘report/ and expressed the hope that the coming season would be as successful and pleasure- • able as the last. • : ' ; .

Mr Restieaux, in seconding the adoption of the report/ said great credit was due to the hon. secretary. Mr Rowlands,'.for' the way.he had looked after their interests.’ Mr Q. Nelson said their balance ■ shetet this year was one of the most satisfactory they had had, and, indeed, it ' compared favourably with any cricket club he had been connected with. They had? good men in the club, and he would also say- that they had good men on the executive of the Otago Cricket Association, and he ielt they should have no fear for the future. ?

]V|r C. Chadwick said that he ■ thought they otoght to congratulate themselves da > having: Mr : Carlton as a coach during the coming season, and he hoped members would do -their utmost to be ion ,J 'the ground to practise and avail themselves of the coaching. /Mr Carlton was a new man amongst them, but he felt - sure' he

would bo a great success. Ho "though c r more _ care ought to bo taken ’ of' - their material, tyid that someone ought to• tie 1 appointed to look afte.r the club's; property. During the coming season they should try to let the young men get into the B Grade team, and allow the older men to have a team of their own.’’ The report was unanimously adopted!’ : Mr J. Hobson, of the Otago Cricket Association, congratulated the dub on sound position, both financially and as regards membership. He Was pleased to ’see so many young men present, os it augured well for the future of the Grange. The Otago Cricket Association, above everything, desired to get into closer touch’ with the duhs. but they were crippled’ financially. They had engaged a coach, alid the High School was paying £75 out of the £l5O required, and he thought the Other clubs in the district ought to try to’make up the balance. It was very small, and he trusted the Grange would do its share, and thus relieve the association of anxiety on that score, for he was sure Mr Carlton would prove a groat success. The association now owed only £7O, and it was hoping by means of the art union n’ot only to : wipe this out, but to Lave a substantial • credit balance, so that there would be no

occasion in the future to call on their good friends the guarantors. He hoped ■ they : would at all times send in their complaints or requests to the association, arid' they would always bo listened to. ' He asked them to play always to win, but to play fairly. The Hon. Secretary read a letter from Bishop Richards. in which he expressed the pleasure he would have in being a patron of the club; also letters from Messrs "8. Dunn and G.
