ST. LEON’S CIRCUS

,On Thursday next St. Leon’s Circus will open a short season on a large vacant property in Princes street, opposite the Oval. 'Referring to this circus an Invercargill newspaper said: “Since the days when I was a small boy, longing for long pants, I have considered myself a .connoisseur in circuses (or should it be circii), and I have investigated one greatest show on earth after another without discovering the one that could give me complete satisfaction. It would be unwise to attempt. to run off the names of the great circii (I like it that way best) of the world’s tented history to show you how qualified I am to judge of the tnings whereof I write or the pains to which I have gone (numerous pains I remember even at this late stage) to find the circus that satisfied me. I found it in Invercargill. St. Leon's may not be the greatest show, on earth (in spite of the bill posters), but it is the most satisfying that I have struck, and that ia all that man or boy can ask. That to me is the keynote of St. Leon’s success—not greatness, but the ability to fill requirements. Tho blase will tell you that all the circii are alike. They are not. If you. buy a night of St. Loon's particular brand you will discover why you will have to agree with me, and with me you will congratulate yourself on tho fact that the search for tho circus you have been looking f<jr all your days is at an enjoyable end.” ___________
