Paul Tribe, foremost French designer of gowns, jewellery, furniture, and interior decorations, displays his first work in motion pictures in “Paying the Piper,’’ a Paramount super attraction, which will be the feature at the Empire Theatre next Tuesday. The artistic talent of Mr Tribe is manifested in many unusual sets and interesting innovations in “Paying the Piper.” A boudoir of Barbara Wyndhom (Dorothy Dickson), ns the petted daughter of a Now York millionaire, has many novelties that will please women patrons. The living room, grand staircase, and cabaret sceno all show the ultra modern note that Mr Tribe has brought from French art to American motion pictures. Mr Tribe’s entrance into American motion pictures is an event in the artistic world. Always a leader in the field of art, ho is responsible for much of the turn of the now movement in costume and interior decoration which has developed in France. “Paying the Piper” is expected to prove a popular attraction. and there will be special arrangements for booking reserves and an augmented orchestra under Mr A. Pettitt.
