THE PRINCE ON TOUR

At the v Ootagon Theatre to-day “Fifty Thousand’Miles with the Prince,” said to be one of the finest travel _ films ever projected' in New Zealand, will bo screened. The film has been kinematographed, produced, and presented under the auspices of the Imperial Government, and by special command of hie.- Majesty the King. But apart from its value as one of the greatest historical pictures of modern times, it should have a direct appeal to New Zealanders. The following cablegram has been received from the Prince’s private secretary:—“The Prinoo of Wales is glad to hear that the official film record of his recent tour is shortly to be shown in New Zealand, and hopes that these pictures will reall to many the happy times he spent during his visit.” Thus Js the man' personified. From the hub of the Empire he remembers New Zealand, and the uproarious, devoted, and loyal welcomes ho received at the hands of Maorilandws. “I have seen the picture,” writes a well-known journalist, “and I was enthralled. . . Ho seems so near, so like one of the family, with his frank, open face. And that smile ! Who could_ forget the wealth of happiness he infuses into it. cigarette perched jauntily in one corner? . . . Loyal Britons, Home or overseas, should consider it a duty to see the picture.” The producers announce that 50 per cent, of the proceeds will be given to the Navy Sports Fund, 5 per cent, to the Prince’s Fluid for Boy Scouts, and 5 per cent, to thd Dominion Boy Scouts. The box plan for the whole season is now open at Begg’s.
