ACCIDENT TO LIEUTENANT PARER,

MACHINE SUSTAINS DAMAGE,

Prasa Association—By Telegraph—Copyright MELBOURNE, August 4. After travelling 40 miles Lieutenant Parer’s engine developed trouble. He landed safely, and sent his companions away to obtain wood for overhauling purposes. While they were away Parer started to overhaul the engine. A strong wind overbalanced the machine 'id his legs and feet were caught in the revolving propeller. His big toe were broken and both his feet were badly bruised. He is suffering severely from exposure. When his companions retui\ed they removed him to the hospital. (Received Aug. 4, at 10.10 p.m.) Lieutenant Parer was badly bruised, but until an X-ray examination has been made it will not be known whether anv bones are broken. Lieutenant Parer states that when he recovers and the machine has been fitted with a new propeller he will make a fresh start.
