The new 1918 Goodyear 30 x 3i All - Weather Tread Tyre will 1 materially reduce the running costs § of all light cars, such as Fords, I Maxwells and Chevrolets. I All these Tyres are made by the Wrapped ' Tread Double Cure process. ? First the foundation or carcass of fabric and cushion rubber is partly vulcanised. Then the tread is applied to the carcass of the tyre—an air bag is placed inside and inflated. The tyre is then placed on a rim, wrapped under heavy pressure, and finally cured or vulcanised to the exact form in which it will be used. This double curing ensures three things: (1) The 6 cushion and tread rubber are equally cured. I (2) Fabric wrinkles are smoothed out, and the 1 tyre assumes natural shape. (3) Blow outs are I y reduced by 90 per cent. j The value of these advantages is greatly enhanced by I the thick superimposed Diamond Blocks of the AWT i now 50 per cent, bigger than before.
