News has been received by Messrs A. G and D. A. M'Kay, Albion Hotel, Napier", that their younger brother, Rifleman A. P. M'Kay, died from wounds in .France on November 4. Rifleman M'Kay left New Zealand with tho 11th Reinforcements, and was in-the 2nd Battalion of tho Rifle Brigade. A fe\y niontlis previous to his deatu he passed an examination, aud was in charge of a. Lewis machine gun, where he reccive'd wounds which- resulted fatally. Previous to enlisting he was in partnership with his brother in tho Empire Hotel Christchurch. Rifleman M'Kay was the youngest son of the late Mr Angus M'Kay of Hyde.

Stoker H. Tragey was a fleet reservist when ho went to New Zealand in 1909 (writes our London correspondent). Called up on tho outbreak of war, he joined H.M.S. Philomel and remained in her through tho Samoan episode and the transport of the Main Body to Egypt. In the Eastern Mediterranean tho Philomel landed a small force at Alexandretta in January, 1915, and it was here that the first New Zealand naval ratings fell in the war. After participating in the action on the canal the following month the vessel went to tho Persian Gulf and tho Rod Sea, and mado frequent landings, returning to New Zealand in March last year. _ Mr Tingey then went to England and joined an ice-breaker.
