PEACE CONFERENCE
JAPAN'S MAIN PROPOSITIONS. AGREEMENT WITH BRITAIN IN THE VAN. NEW YORK, November 24. ' Sun Washington correspondent states that he learns from the diplomatic service that Japan's principal propositions at the Peace Conference will include:— ' First, unquestioned concurrence with Britain on the subject of freedom of the seas and other matters affecting the AngloJapanese Alliance.
Second, sympathy with the United otates and the Entente in protecting new nations. a
Third, recognition that it is necessary that Japan shall preserve order in Siberia. Fourth, recognition of legitimate Japanese financial commercial, and industrial sphere of influence in China. Fifth, the permanent occupation of Kia Ghau under terms satisfactory to Japan and China. 1
Sixth, a Japanese protectorate over the Marshall and Caroline Islands. Seventh, reciprocatory rights for Japanese citizenship throughout the world.
