AUCKLAND, November 25. The four-year-old son of James Scott, of Bayfield road, died from scalds through falling into a copper containing 'boiling water.
Mrs Margaret Jane Coats, a widow, residing by herself at Port Chalmers, was found dead in her cottage yesterday morning. Deceased, who was over 80 years of age, had been ailing for some time past. A neighbour left her at 7 o'clock on Sunday night, £Uid on calling" yesterday morning found her dead. As a doctor has been attending her, an inquest will not be held. Christina Stewart, 55 years of age, of Glen road, Mornington, widow of Mr David Stewart, who liad carried on a bookseller's business in the Arcade till his death in January last, died suddenly on Sunday morning without having been attended by a doctor. At the inquest, held by Mr H. A. Young, evidenoe was given by a sister-in-law (Mrs M'Coll), by two neighbours, and by Dr Cottrell, and a vcrdict was returned that dcatli resulted from epilepsy.
