AMUSEMENTS.

What must bo adjudged a well-balanced programme is at present being shown at the Theatre. The chief attractions are "The Flames of Chance," featuring winsome Margory Wilson, and "The Adventurer," with the inimitable Charles Chaplin as funmaker. Another episode of The Neglected Wife serial and a Gazette complete an excellent bill. "Big Tremaine," the leading picture at the Plaza Theatre, contains an enthralling story of a man who is accused of a crime of which he is innocent The supporting films are a very fine scenic, "Rio de Janeiro," one of the latest Gazettes, a further instalment of "The Girl and the Game," and a good comedy. The " Gates of Gladness," which is now being screened at Everybody's Theatre, is attracting good attendances. The storv is more than usually interesting, and concerns _ the lives of two families. It is magnificently acted, and the photography is superb. The supporting pictures are a TopicaJ Budget, "Prairie Chicken" (a h:ghly-amusing oomedy), and the fourteenth episode of "Lucille Love."

CONCERT AT ALLANTON.

A suocessful concert was held at Allanton on Thursday evening in aid of the funds of the local Catholic Churcli. The hall was crowded, and everv performer was recalled. Rev. Father Morkane was chairman. The following assisted with the programme Misses Lemon, Niven, SulTvan. Bradshaw, and Hawke, and Messrs Fitzpatrick, Allpress, and Walls. Misses Hawke ajid Walls played the accompaniments. A danoe followed.
