♦ The manager of the Waiotahi mine reports that stoping; on the leader above the surface level is being continued, and £o od colours of gold have been seen. The crushing of the quarts on hand is beinir proceeded with. 5 In the Waihi Extended mine the east crosscut has been .advanced to 268 ft, within apt of the point where the No. 2 lode should bo intersected. Work has been stopped. During last week the drive in No. 2 level of the Waitangi mine has been extended a further distance of 6ft on thn mam reef. Assay samples taken for £r& : 6d HangingWal1 ' £2 23 3d; At Sylvia Reefs north of the main crosscut the rise is up 20ft. The reef is wider than the rise, and is well mineralised The main drive was advanced lift. An uprise was started at the end of the drive. The reef is very flat, and we are up sft with thn 11 W r ng - In the end the hangingwall reef is verv small. The mam reef is 3|ft wide, and fairly well mineralised. y u NOTES FROM CROMWELL.
